Interview: Background and Approach

Who I am and what makes me tick.

How have your previous experiences in business helped you at Financial Progression?

Being a Project Manager in the corporate world for twenty years gave me the best grounding I could ask for. Planning, team building, resolving conflict, tracking issues, managing actions, generating pipelines, resource tracking gave me the essential tools to enable me to carry out the role in Financial Progression.

Which part of your work gives you the greatest sense of achievement?

I feel that I’m a great communicator and team builder so feel good about keeping the team in the loop, making sure that their points are heard and that the appropriate actions are taken.

Also being Prince2 trained it’s really important to me that process and procedures are documented.

How would people describe you?

I think people would describe me as down to earth, someone without any pretence and who says it like it is.

I’m known to be super organised, spinning lots of plates in the air at the same time both within my work and home life.

One of my motto’s is work hard/play hard so I’m sure that people see me as someone who likes to socialize and have fun!

What motivates you to do what you do?

As corny as it sounds I have to say that my twin girls motivate me, I want them to have the best that they can have so working enables their clubs, day trips and holidays.

What can you be found doing when you’re not at work?

Out of work the majority of my time is spent looking after the girls who are ten years old (twins – going on sixteen!). We have a lot of fun together and I really enjoy planning mini trips with them to see local events and attractions.

I do try and keep a balance and my sanity (!) and meet up with girlfriends as often as I can, eating out is a favourite thing to do, good natter and good food, perfect!
